2026 Undergraduate Admissions Guide for International Students
Located in Yangling, Shaanxi Province—known as the birthplace of Chinese agricultural civilization and a national agricultural high-tech industry demonstration zone—Northwest A&F University (NWAFU) is directly affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China. It is a key university under the national “Project 985” and “Project 211,” and among the first batch selected for China’s “Double First-Class” initiative. NWAFU has become one of the country’s leading universities in agriculture, with complete programs covering agriculture, forestry, water resources, and related fields.
Most undergraduate programs are taught in Chinese, while some are offered in English. The duration of study is four years. Graduates who meet degree requirements will be awarded a bachelor’s degree.

II. Application Period
Application Deadline: May 31, 2026.

Important: Applicants must submit the online application and pay the application fee through the NWAFU International Student Application System before the deadline.
III. Fees
1. Application Fee: RMB 400 (non-refundable)
2. Tuition Fee:18,000 yuan per year. (Chinese medium)

Payment Method: All fees should be transferred to the university's designated bank account. A copy of the remittance receipt must be uploaded to the application system.
IV. Eligibility
1.Be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport;
2.Be under 25 years of age;
3.Be in good physical and mental health, with a clean disciplinary and criminal record, and demonstrate a friendly attitude toward China.
V. Language Requirements:
Chinese-taught Programs: HSK Level 4 or proof of Chinese instruction in high school for exemption;
English-taught Programs: Non-native speakers must provide TOEFL, IELTS, or other English proficiency certificates.
Additional Notes:
² Applicants who were previously Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality must have obtained foreign nationality before April 30, 2022, and have lived abroad for at least two years between April 30, 2022, and April 30, 2026 (at least 9 months per year).
² Applicants who are found to retain Chinese nationality at the time of application or upon admission will have their admission qualification canceled.
VI. Application Materials
Applicants must log in to the NWAFU International Student Application System and upload clear scans of the following original or notarized documents in full:
1. Copy of passport (valid);
2. High school diploma or expected graduation certificate;
3. High school academic transcript;
4. Language proficiency certificate;
5. Personal statement;
6. Two recommendation letters from high school teachers;
7. Academic test scores;
8. Certificates from subject competitions (if any);
9. Guarantee letter from a legal guardian in mainland China (for applicants under age of 18 as of September 1, 2026).
Important Notes:
u Documents must be in Chinese or English. Documents in other languages must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.
u Submission via post or email is not accepted.
u Incomplete applications may be rejected. Additional documents are generally not accepted after submission.
VII. Selection and Admission
Applicants who pass the initial review will be invited for an online interview. Admission decisions will be based on academic performance, language proficiency, and interview results. Admission status can be checked through the application system.
Pre-admitted applicants must pay the first-year tuition fee within the specified period. Failure to pay on time will result in disqualification.
Official Admission Notices will be available for download through the system. The JW202 form (Visa Application for Study in China) will be emailed to the admitted student.
Reminders:
² Indicate your application number and name when remitting payment.
² Tuition will not be refunded if the applicants give up admission or disqualified after admission.
² The university reserves the right to adjust policies in accordance with government regulations.
VIII. Registration
New students should register at the university in late August or early September 2026, as specified in the Admission Notice. They must bring the original high school diploma, language certificate, and other required documents. Failure to submit these will result in disqualification.
IX. Medical Insurance
Fee: RMB 800/year
According to the Ministry of Education regulations, international students must purchase comprehensive medical insurance in China. This is a mandatory requirement for registration. The insurance fee is RMB 800 per year. Specific arrangements will be notified before registration.
X. Accommodation
International students will live in double rooms in NWAFU’s International Student Dormitory. The monthly rent is RMB 500.
