----Explore Rural China and Discover the Future of Agriculture
1. Program Introduction
Shaanxi Province is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization, and Yangling is known as the “Cradle of China’s Agricultural Civilization.” Based on the strengths of Northwest A&F University, this summer program is designed for international undergraduate and graduate students in agriculture and related fields.
The program provides an immersive learning experience where students can learn about China’s agriculture, rural development, modern technologies, and traditional culture.
Program goals:
1. Experience daily life in rural China and learn about traditional farming culture.
2. Understand China’s progress in modern agriculture and new technologies.
3. Explore sustainable agriculture and rural revitalization practices.
4. Feel the history and cultural richness of China.
2. Course Modules and Activities
Module 1: Opening Ceremony & Special Lectures
Theme: “Entering Yangling, Learning About China’s Agriculture”. Students will attend the opening ceremony and lectures on China’s agricultural development, rural revitalization, and modern agricultural technology.
Module 2: Rural Visits & Field Activities
Students will visit rural communities in Shaanxi, join farming activities, interview local farmers, and learn how rural areas are changing.
Module 3: Agricultural Technology & Innovation
With the support of Northwest A&F University’s research teams, students will learn about agricultural science, join simple experiments, and understand China’s research and innovation system.
Module 4: Cultural Exploration & Hands-On Experience
Students will discover Shaanxi culture and join activities such as calligraphy, tea ceremony, paper cutting, and visits to historical sites.
Module 5: Student Presentation & Closing Ceremony
Students will work in groups to present what they learned, share ideas about China's agriculture and rural development, and join the closing ceremony and friendship dinner.
3. Admissions Information
• Target students: Undergraduate and master's students in agriculture or related fields.
• Number of participants: About 20 students.
• Language of instruction: English (with bilingual support).
• Tuition fee: 3,000 yuan (two weeks).
• Accommodation, meals, and international travel: Self-funded.
• Application method: Apply online through the website of the College of International Education.
• Application deadline: June 30, 2026.
